In cooperation between Split Technology Park and Parklio, one of the Technology Park’s tenants, testing has begun of Parklio smart parking sensors, which show in real time whether a parking space is occupied or free.
These are small, fully autonomous devices that are simply mounted on the surface – with no excavation, noise or interruption to the use of the car park. The sensors combine geomagnetic detection and microwave radar, achieving more than 98% accuracy regardless of weather conditions.
The housing is robust and durable, withstanding loads of more than 10 tonnes, and high-capacity lithium batteries provide up to 5 years of maintenance-free operation. During testing, a range of data is monitored – how many spaces are occupied, how many different vehicles use the same space, and when the “peak” hours are by day, week and month.
All data is collected via a LoRaWAN network and displayed in the Parklio parking management system, which enables advanced analytics and smarter space management.
Parklio is part of the Split Technology Park community, and projects like this show how cooperation with local high-tech entrepreneurs delivers real results and strengthens the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem.
