The first generation of the BizLabJunior programme for young leaders has successfully completed its training

Split Technology Park was a partner business support institution in the implementation of the BizLabJunior programme for young leaders. Through 12 educational modules, primary school pupils developed knowledge in sustainable economics, finance, marketing, digitalisation and entrepreneurship, connecting with the business world and creating their own projects.

Split Technology Park hosted business academy activities covering the digitalisation module, with a full-day programme at TPS that included a tour, meeting startups, learning about the work of TPS and a workshop on 3D modelling. A representative of Split Technology Park also sat on the jury that selected the most successful pupil business idea – a smart cane for the blind.

At a ceremony held at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism in Split, 40 pupils from 4 eco primary schools from Solin and Kaštela received certificates of completion. BizLabJunior, implemented in cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and its main partner CEMEX Hrvatska, continues to encourage young people to be leaders of change and innovation.

Two-day sales training held for startups

As part of the activities of the Split Technology Park INVENTO accelerator, an intensive two-day training session on pricing products and services was held on 1 and 2 April.

The training was led by Maciej Kraus, an expert in developing strategic pricing models and a guest lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he shares his knowledge of pricing and monetisation strategies.

All start-up entrepreneurs face challenges in determining the optimal price for their products and services, and the right pricing decisions directly affect profitability, scalability and competitive position on the market. The first day of training therefore focused on pricing as an accelerator of company growth and on pricing models, while the second day covered value communication and the optimisation of sales channels.

The training was designed as a combination of theory, case studies and interactive exercises, with an emphasis on:
• understanding the strategic role of pricing in tech startups
• developing adaptable and scalable pricing models
• techniques for measuring customers’ willingness to pay (WTP)
• communicating product value on the market

Through the INVENTO accelerator, Split Technology Park runs business development programmes for startups, i.e. start-up entrepreneurs up to 5 years old. The INVENTO accelerator is implemented in cooperation with Invento Capital Partners as part of the “Strengthening Acceleration Activities” project of the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO).

“Things we take for granted”: Split Technology Park through the inspiring story of a young innovator

Since opening in July 2024, Split Technology Park has been successfully running incubation and acceleration programmes, bringing together startups, entrepreneurs, individuals and the scientific community, and providing a platform for networking, the exchange of ideas and innovation. In addition to EU funds and the City of Split’s own revenue, the construction of the central building of Split Technology Park is also being financed through a European Investment Bank loan under the Framework Loan for Cities granted to the City of Split with the aim of improving public infrastructure.

Recognising the importance of Split Technology Park for the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in the local community, the European Investment Bank decided to highlight this very project in its campaign “Things we take for granted” as an example of good practice and impact on the local community.

On the YouTube channel you can watch a short video following the inspiring journey of young entrepreneur Ena Melvan, who shares what Split Technology Park means to her and her startup Metabelly.

Split Technology Park has become a key hub for the development of new business initiatives, giving startups such as Metabelly the opportunity to develop and grow. In this way, Split Technology Park contributes to the development of innovation and the creation of new opportunities, changing the economic landscape of the Split Urban Agglomeration.
