University of Split Faculty of Economics Students Visit the Smart City Lab and the 3D Laboratory at Split Technology Park

On Monday, 22 December 2025, Split Technology Park hosted a guest lecture for second-year graduate students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Split, enrolled in the Smart City Management course. The students were accompanied by Prof. Maja Ćukušić, PhD.

The lecture was given by Marina Tavra, Head of the Smart City and Digitalisation Department at Split Development Agency – RaST and Head of the Smart City Lab. The students were introduced to the role of RaST and Split Technology Park in developing the innovation ecosystem and to the City of Split’s key smart city projects, with an emphasis on sustainable mobility, digital public services, the development of GIS and 3D city models, and the future digital twin of Split.

Particular emphasis was placed on the links between strategic documents, technological solutions and management processes, so that students could gain insight into how the concepts they learn in the course are applied in the city’s real-world projects.

After the lecture, the students visited the 3D laboratory at Split Technology Park, where Mateo Silić, a 3D technology expert, demonstrated the equipment and the capabilities of 3D technologies: from 3D scanning and modelling to prototyping. The students had the opportunity to see how 3D tools are used in smart infrastructure projects.

The guest lecture and the visit to the 3D laboratory are part of the ongoing effort to connect the academic community, the city and the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Split Technology Park, so that future professionals gain experience of working on concrete smart city management challenges while still at university.

Georgia Southern University Students Visit Split Technology Park

On 17 December, Split Technology Park had the opportunity to host 24 students from the Parker College of Business, Georgia Southern University, who, as part of a ten-day stay in Croatia, are getting to know the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, innovative startups and the process of developing their products.

During the visit, the students took part in a series of activities that gave them a closer look at the day-to-day life and work of the startups and tenants of the technology park. They began the visit in the Technology Park’s 3D lab, where they learned more about 3D printing and modelling technologies and saw examples of practical applications in product development and prototyping.

After that, Tea Radica from MetaBelly gave a presentation of the company’s products, in which the students learned about the entire development process, from the idea, through fundraising, to experience in developing spin-off projects. Josip Volarević also presented his startup, introducing the students to the world of Web3 technologies, Solana infrastructure and crowdfunding, and explaining how new technologies and decentralised financing models are used in modern business. The students also visited Jedsy, one of the Technology Park’s new tenants, which hosted them in its office and showed how medical drones are used in practical processes, including a demonstration of their use. The final visit was to Reeinvent, which gave the students a brief presentation of its business and an insight into the company’s operational processes.

Through these visits, the students gained valuable knowledge about startup and business development and will also use the results of their field research in their academic work.

Additional “e-Citizens” Workshops Held as Part of the Digital Literacy Academy

As part of the Digital Literacy Academy, Split Technology Park, in cooperation with the City of Split, has continued to deliver workshops dedicated to using the e-Citizens system. Following strong interest from participants, two more workshops focused on the practical use of digital public services were successfully held.

Through concrete examples, participants learned how to log in to the e-Citizens system, use the most common e-services and handle everyday administrative tasks online safely and easily. Particular emphasis was placed on using the system independently and improving digital security.

We thank all participants for their participation and interest, and we are continuing to deliver training as part of the Digital Literacy Academy.

  • optimal product presentation,
  • customer retention,

INVENTO Accelerator Enters Its Final Phase: 23 Startups Continue Their Journey Towards the Market and Investment

The INVENTO accelerator programme, run by Split Technology Park in cooperation with INVENTO Capital Partners, has entered its final phase — post-acceleration. After a year of intensive development and mentoring, 23 startups have successfully completed the pre-acceleration and acceleration phases and are moving on to the last part of the support programme, focused on strengthening investment readiness and entering international markets.

Key activities in the implementation of the INVENTO accelerator to date:

  • 23 startups (11 from Split) – newly established companies up to 5 years old
  • 2 years of continuous support in product and business development (pitching to investors, applying for funding calls, connecting with mentors, networking)
  • 500+ mentoring hours from experienced industry and business experts
  • 15+ thematic entrepreneurship workshops (business planning and financing, go-to-market and marketing strategy, IPR and HR management, sales and fundraising pitch)
  • 200+ meetings with investor representatives (15+ venture capital funds and business angels)
  • 2 international conferences organised to exchange knowledge and experience in innovation development and to connect with innovation ecosystem stakeholders

During the acceleration phase, the startups also received HAMAG-BICRO financial support of EUR 25,000, which enabled them to speed up prototype development, test their solutions and cover operating costs.

Particularly notable are the startups that have already secured their first investments and international partnerships, among which startups from Split Technology Park play an important role. MetaBelly secured an investment of EUR 350,000 to develop its deep-tech platform Optibiomics, while SPLX.AI attracted a USD 7 million investment last year and made a strong international breakthrough. Other Split Technology Park tenants are also making significant progress.

“Through the INVENTO accelerator we had the opportunity to use an office and receive mentoring support, which was extremely important to us at an early stage. The help of a lawyer regarding the investment terms meant a great deal to us, as did the mentors’ advice on applying for EU projects. RAST gave us strong support in the form of consultations on pricing, setting up the company, equity split and business development guidelines. The most valuable aspect of the whole experience was being connected with the Vesna VC fund, with which we closed a pre-seed and seed investment. INVENTO enabled us to build a solid foundation and move faster towards growth.” Ena Melvan, MetaBelly d.o.o.

“The Invento accelerator helped us with financial support through grants, which we are using to develop the prototype of our pivoted product. In addition, we received non-financial support – various workshops, training sessions and an office in the excellent Split Technology Park. Above all, through the accelerator we became part of an energetic, innovative community of fellow “startuppers” who share similar values, which gives us extra motivation and perseverance on our journey.” Darko Majić, Marteching Solutions d.o.o.

“INVENTO provided us with a combination of funding and expert mentoring, workspace and access to numerous networking opportunities. If you are just starting out in entrepreneurship, their acceleration programme offers clearly guided steps towards the market and growth.” Ivan Lovrić, Workspace d.o.o

These examples further confirm the role of Split Technology Park as a place that provides startups with support, resources and a community in which they can grow faster and access investment more easily.

In the post-acceleration phase, startups also have access to financial support for internationalisation through vouchers for participation in international events, trade fairs, conferences and other activities important for entering foreign markets.

In the final stage of the programme, the focus is on ensuring that each startup receives mentoring support tailored to its specific needs in bringing its product to the (international) market. The INVENTO accelerator will give startups new opportunities to present themselves to customers, partners and investors, and will provide mentoring support as a foundation for growth.

Split Technology Park is proud to be part of this story and to actively contribute to building a strong startup ecosystem in the region. In the coming months, we will continue to follow the teams’ progress and share their successes and innovations.

Split Technology Park Tenants Among STARTUP Award Winners

At the STARTUP conference held in Šibenik as part of the Regional Development and EU Funds Days, awards were presented to the most innovative startups from three Croatian regions – Adriatic, Northern and Pannonian Croatia.

We are particularly proud that two companies from Split Technology Park are among the winners: Caelum 1029, which took second place, and Engasco, which won first place. This success once again confirms the quality and innovation potential of the startups operating at Split Technology Park.

The National Grand Prix award was also presented, won this year by Hidrocibalae, another Split Technology Park tenant.

Their results show how much the Croatian startup scene is progressing. We congratulate all the award-winning teams, especially the companies developing their projects at Split Technology Park. Their achievements confirm that Split has a stable and supportive innovation ecosystem that fosters the development of new ideas and successful entrepreneurial ventures.

Four “e-Citizens” Workshops Held as Part of the Digital Literacy Academy

As part of the Digital Literacy Academy, Split Technology Park and the City of Split successfully delivered as many as four groups of workshops dedicated to using the e-Citizens system. The workshops focused on hands-on work, with participants gradually mastering how to log in to the system, exploring its most important features and learning how to use digital public services safely and easily. Participants highlighted how much this kind of training helps them with their everyday administrative tasks.

We thank all participants for taking part and look forward to the continuation of the programme.
